I love the rain

While my old home state of Victoria is desperately in need of water in it's storages we, here on the New South Wales coast, seem to be almost waterlogged. Not that I am complaining, mind! I certainly never need to water any of my pots and the car is automatically cleaned every few days! I'm not so keen on the constant mowing or should I say the constant need to mow because, truth be told, I still haven't mowed since I've moved. I did actually try yesterday but nothing went right so I decided to indulge my self and went down to the beach and took a few photos.

I've just rediscovered that I need to make sure the horizon is perfectly straight or you could get seasick looking at my photos.

Once it got too dark for the camera I did a little bit of curbside shopping. What I mean is that this week is our councils major cleanup day and I just had a little look see to see what I could see. And boy! did I see, even though it was dark and raining half of the time. It breaks my heart to have to leave so much beautiful stuff out there knowing that it will soon be trashed but I really don't have room for anymore inside the house. I am trying to simplify my household and I was really only after a few ceramic or clay pots for my back verandah but unfortunately this was not the year for them. Last year I got a lovely collection of them. This year seems to be the year of the wheelbarrow, the fan and the ironing board. Last year was all about pots and excercise bikes and plastic outside chairs. I wonder what treasures I will find next year!

I love everything that I found but was also very happy to find a free standing slippery slide for a friend with two little ones who had previously asked me to keep my eyes open at garage sales for them. The whole family, including grandma, were waiting to look at it when I arrived at around 9:30 last night. The father told me that the odd contraption you see on the right of the main picture is a harrow. I just want it as a decoration for the garden!

Cheerio!
